MS Amlin profit jumps 50.2% in 2025

Underwriting gains reached $350m as catastrophe events tested insurers across regions.

MS Amlin Syndicate 2001 has announced its full-year financial results for the period ending 31 December 2025, recording a third consecutive year of growth. 

The company reported an underwriting profit of $350m, representing a 50.2% increase from the $233m recorded in 2024. 

This performance was achieved despite a year marked by significant market events, including wildfires in California and ongoing geopolitical challenges.

The syndicate’s gross written premiums rose by 9.6% to reach $2,876m. Net earned premiums also saw a significant increase of 18.5%, rising to $2,389m from the previous year’s $2,017m. 

Company officials attributed this growth to a deliberate strategy of retaining more net risk and favourable movements in reinsurance pricing. 

The results were achieved despite a decline in market pricing during the second half of the year.

CEO Christiern Dart noted that the company plans to continue its long-term growth by leveraging the international network of its parent company, MS&AD.
